The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division Commander Major General Jose Maria R Cuerpo II awarded battle-wounded personnel and led the gift-giving activity at Camp Evangelista Station Hospital (CESH) inside Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, on December 16, 2024.
Two (2) enlisted military personnel and one member of CAFGU Active Auxilliary (CAA) received the Wounded Personnel Medal (WPM) for their gallantry in action and acts of heroism while serving the people of Northern Mindanao and the Caraga region. In addition, the three awardees and 19 other military personnel, who are also currently recuperating at CESH due to the injuries they sustained in the line of duty, received financial assistance and gift packs from 4ID.
The 4ID commander’s visit was intended to recognize the bravery and sacrifices of soldiers and uplift their morale and those of their families, especially during the holiday season.
Maj. Gen. Cuerpo said the visit was an opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of soldiers as members of the Joint Task Force Diamond and to provide care and support during their recovery, ensure their comfort, and address any needs they might have.
“We took this opportunity to visit here, especially since we have new battle casualties from the recent encounter in Bukidnon, just to check on you and to be able to touch base on you to know what you need and what we can do to help you so that your stay will be comfortable despite the injuries you incurred in the battlefield. Rest assured that the division will make sure that you would recuperate immediately.” MGen. Cuerpo said.
