
The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division highlighted its notable achievements against the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) during the Year-End Campaign Progress Review and Assessment (CPRA) and Command Conference held at Camp Evangelista in Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, on January 20, 2025.
Led by Brigadier General Consolito P. Yecla, Acting 4ID Commander, the CPRA and Command COnference assessed the division’s operational successes and discussed strategies for the upcoming year.
Brigade Commanders, General and Special Staff, along with representatives from line units, attended the activity, while triad staff from the Eastern Mindanao Command (EMC), Battalion Commanders, and other key officers of the Joint Task Force Diamond participated virtually.
The program was facilitated by Colonel Cesar J. Conte Jr., 4ID Chief of Staff with the repsetnaiton of the triad staff of 4ID. This was followed by Brigadier General Yecla’s Commander’s Guidance, which emphasized the importance of sustaining gains and maintaining peace within the division’s areas of responsibility.
Discussions highlighted the division’s success in dismantling key elements of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) from March 2023 to January 2025. During this period, the division targeted and dismantled 3 Guerrilla Fronts, 2 Sub-Regional Committees, 2 Sub-Regional Sentro de Grabidad units, and 1 Independent Platoon. These efforts significantly crippled the CTG’s operational structure. The division engaged in 160 encounters, resulting in the deaths of 63 insurgents, the capture of 4, the apprehension of 10, and the surrender of 296 individuals. Additionally, a total of 442 firearms were seized or surrendered, including 398 high-powered weapons.
A significant achievement occurred on July 26, 2023, when the troops of the 58th Infantry Battalion neutralized Dionisio Micabalo, also known as Ka Muling, the Secretary of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee. This operation took place in Gingoog City and had a major impact on disrupting the leadership and capabilities of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).
Brigadier General Yecla praised the dedication of the 4th Infantry Division (4ID) personnel and emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum as the division approaches 2025.

As we enter the new year, we must remain steadfast in our mission to protect our people and secure lasting peace in our region.”
