The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division of the Philippine Army officially welcomed its new Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retiree Affairs during an Assumption of Office Ceremony held at the 4ID Mess Hall in Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, yesterday morning, January 22, 2025.
Colonel Rey P. Pasco formally assumed the role of Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, with Brigadier General Consolito P. Yecla, Acting Commander of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, presided over the event.
Colonel Pasco brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having previously served in several key roles in the Armed Forces of the Philippines. From 2015 to 2017, he was the Commanding Officer of the 4th Civil-Military Operations Battalion, which was formerly based in Bancasi, Butuan City, under the 4th Infantry Division. His leadership during this period was instrumental in enhancing the battalion’s civil-military operations.
From 2017 to 2018, Colonel Pasco served as Battalion Commander of the 16th Infantry Battalion, under the operational control of the 2nd Infantry Division, where he further demonstrated his leadership in operational and strategic military engagements.
In addition to these key roles, Colonel Pasco is a proud member of the Officer Preparatory Course (OPC) Class of 1994. He also served as the Director of 7th Armed Forces of the Philippines Reserve Center, AFP Reserve Command (AFPRESCEN, RESCOM), further expanding his experience in managing reserve forces and their training.
In his remarks, Col. Pasco expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and outlined his commitment to the role.
“I am deeply honored to serve as your Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retiree Affairs. I am ready to lead, listen, and work to ensure that our reservists in this part of Mindanao continue their proud legacy of excellence. Together, we will achieve our mission, honor our tradition, and build a future worthy of the sacrifices of those who came before us,” Col. Pasco said.
Brigadier General Yecla extended his congratulations and shared his confidence in Col. Pasco’s ability to fulfill his responsibilities effectively.
“With our reserve force serving as an integral support to our total force, the role of ADC-RRA is critical to pursuing strategic objectives in our Army Transformation Roadmap, where optimum utilization of the reserve force is among the goals. Consequently, I expect the Diamond Troopers to support Col. Pasco. Nevertheless, I am confident that he will surely be a major asset in our mission accomplishments,” Brigadier General Yecla stated.
The 4th Infantry Division, renowned for its steadfast dedication to service, warmly embraces Col. Pasco’s leadership as it continues its mission of supporting and strengthening the network of military retirees and reservists in its area of responsibility.
