
Lieutenant General Roy M. Galido, Commanding General of the Philippine Army, honored soldiers who are wounded in action during a visit at the Camp Evangelista Station Hospital (CESH) in 4th Infantry Division (4ID) Headquarters, Camp Evangelista, Barangay Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, on January 28, 2025.
Lt. Gen. Galido personally visited the soldiers, commending their dedication to duty and selfless service. The visit also served as an opportunity to highlight the Army’s steadfast dedication to ensure the well-being of its personnel, particularly those who have incurred injuries while fulfilling their duties.
Additionally, the Commanding General of the Philippine Army extended financial assistance and conferred the Wounded Personnel Medal (WPM) on two soldiers currently recuperating at the facility. Sergeant Joenail Aniñon and Private First Class Rayan Azagra, both members of the 3rd Scout Ranger Battalion, sustained injuries during recent combat operations conducted within the operational area of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division.
Lt. Gen. Galido underscored the Philippine Army’s unwavering commitment to supporting its soldiers, especially those who have made extraordinary sacrifices for the nation’s peace and security.
In a statement, 4ID Commander, Brigadier General Michele B. Anayron Jr., expressed his admiration for the soldiers’ bravery and resilience.
“The Army remains steadfast in its duty to care for and uplift its wounded personnel, as they exemplify the bravery and dedication required in the service to our country,” Brigadier General Anayron Jr said.
